Population

The general picture of the population in the municipality of Shuto Orizari, according to the census of the population, households and dwellings in the Republic of Macedonia. since 2002 is given in the tables below (according to unofficial data about 35,000 inhabitants). According to the data, 60.6% of the total population in the municipality is of Roma ethnicity. However, with the reiteration that all this data should be taken with reserve since it has been a long period since the last official census.

There is still a problem with the inhabitants without personal documentation in the municipality, which would increase the total number of population in the territory of the municipality (for example, only in May 2014, 25 children without personal documents were detected in this region).

Migration movements of the population show a trend of increase of the total population in the municipality of Shuto Orizari, and are shown in the following tables together with the age structure of the population (of which only 4.6% is above the age limit of 65 years, and differs significantly from the population in the City Skopje above the same age limit as 10.4%):

The level of education of the residents in the municipality of Shuto Orizari is the highest percentage of elementary education, as many as 52.27% of the population aged 15 and over. The distribution of the population according to school preparation is shown in the table below. There are two elementary schools in the municipality, “Braka Ramiz and Hamid” primary school, where students, besides studying in Macedonian, also have a Roma language, and primary school is “26th of July” where teaching is conducted in Macedonian and Albanian language.

Significantly higher percentage of illiterate population exists in the municipality of Shuto Orizari compared to the average level of the Republic of Macedonia and the City of Skopje. Also, in the municipality of Shuto Orizari, the illiteracy of the female population is considerably higher, and is shown in the table below.
